Quest For My B.S. – C Programming

Today, was the first day of my C programming course. I only have 2 classes this semester because I want to knock out the RHCSA/CE during the holidays or sometime in January.

Side note: Did you know Visual Studio 2012 is a free download from Microsoft? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30682

I found out through my class Syllabus. This course requires an IDE with an ANSI C compiler, so the Professor suggested Visual Studio.

RedHat Certified System Administrator

My next goal is to become certified as a RedHat System Administrator (RHCSA) AND RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE). These tests are completely hands on, so no more simulation only questions. Going by the information I’ve been reading, I am allotting myself until January to sit for both tests. Did I mention these exams are $400 each? I can not afford to fail… LOL.

Lets get to it!

Goodbye Web Design, Hello Information Technology

goodbye-hello

After years of solely working on the internet, I’ve decided to switch gears. I have always been impressed by the server admins that I work with (remotely). Any problem that came up, a solution was never far away. I learned quite a bit about server maintenance from them, but I lacked the formal training. Shortly, before the Christmas holidays I decided to going back to school, to major in Information Technology. I am especially interested in the Security side of I.T.

First day of class is Jan. 7th.
